Our interpretation of the iconic Shag utilizes the razor as a tool to create movement and effortless layers. The bangs are the focal point of this cut, versatile in length and a guide for determining the surrounding layers. Adaptable to personal style, the look can span from soft and feminine to strong and bold.
THE LOOK
Bangs varying in lengths from above the eyebrow to the lips
Based on your chosen look, there is versatility in keeping lines strong or soft
While collar bone is ideal, the perimeter length can be left longer
The modern interpretation of today’s Shag is not necessarily as we remember it, leaving flexibility for each interpretation
Equally stunning blown out smooth or hand dried with natural texture
TECHNIQUES
Analyzing the head shape, density and existing haircut
Detailing the size of the first section based on style, head shape and density
Oribe’s circular sections are used for the remaining hair
The razor is used to remove weight and cut clean lines with texture
Working from the inside out removing weight while simultaneously cutting layers
